A memorial stone was erected by the fire signal beacon here in 1904 by the Heggjabygda youth association. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/leksikon.fylkesarkivet.no\/article\/1b15d854-08fb-48c7-8773-451d6d207a84\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">More information here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: There is a steep overhang towards Hornindalsvatnet lake a little south of the memorial stone. Lovely views, but a high drop. Be careful!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Veltene <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Parking by the logging field at Reset at the top of \u00c5st\u00f8bakkane, with an easy hike towards the top of Hestefjellet mountain. There is a logging road to Veltene (steep, not suitable for cars), with the possibility of walking further to both Hestefjellet and Bl\u00e5fjellet mountains. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other experiences and offers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Heggjabygda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Heggjabygda grendahus<\/a> is a community hall available for events. Banquet hall with space for about 120 guests.
