Here, you will find a beautiful sandy beach, close to the distinctive churchyard and the <a href=\"https:\/\/stadkyrkje.no\/Kyrkjer\/Ervik-kyrkje\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">memorial chape<\/a>l erected in memory of the sinking of the MS Sanct Svithun in the autumn of 1943. <\/p>\n\n<p>Here in Ervik you will also find dramatic wartime history with the fortress in Hovden and memorial chapel in memory of the Russians and Ukrainians who died in the German prison camp.<\/p>\n\n<p>The main industries are agriculture and tourism. The area is home to large, well-run farms and one of the best surfing beaches in Norway. In addition, Norway&#8217;s largest line fishing vessel owner \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ervikhavfiske.no\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ervik Havfiske<\/a> \u2013 is originally located at Otneimsneset.  <\/p>\n\n<p>There is no shop in the village, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taarsnackbar.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">T\u00e5r Snackbar<\/a> is like a small mini-shop, open 24 hours a day and has a coffee machine! <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The skate barn in Ervik<\/h3>\n\n<p>Many people are familiar with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kommahuset.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Skatel\u00f8a<\/a> (&#8216;the skate barn&#8217;) or Jonasl\u00e5ven as it was previously called. The converted barn is open to anyone who wants to take advantage of the activities on offer: a skate ramp, table tennis, a bouldering wall, and more fun for all ages.
